Description
The purpose of this contract is to appoint a Principal Contractor on behalf of the UKRI - Medical Research Council (MRC) to deliver a radiological survey of their Toxicology Unit in Leicester. The Toxicology Unit is transferring from the University of Leicester to the University of Cambridge. Before vacating the premises, MRC must undertake a survey of radiation levels within the building and ensure that they have not increased since the last survey. There are two reasons for Aurora Health being the only option available to the customer: 1. Aurora Health are the current Radiation Protection Advisor 2. The Iicence for radiation work needs to be surrendered prior to vacation, but the customer has an agreement with the University of Leicester to cover them until they vacate. Under the terms of this agreement, it is essential that the work is undertaken by the same company (Aurora) who completed the last survey in 2018, to understand if there have been an increase in radiation levels. This single Sourcing Sourcing Action was approved in line with Regulation 32 (2) b - Competition is absent for technical reasons.
