Description
The Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Kent is committed to providing a quality Restorative Justice Service which will link in to the existing commissioned victim's services and support the long term recovery of victims of crime in Kent. The future vision for Kent is to provide an RJ Service which is supported by colleagues from across the criminal justice system and is accessible to both adults and youths, victims and offenders in order to reduce the initial effects of crime on victims, enable them to cope and recover from the crime as well as encouraging offenders to understand the effects of their actions and support in preventing further re-offending. The RJ service will be made available when it can best support the victims' recovery and the offenders' rehabilitation rather than based on the position of the case in the criminal justice system (CJS).
