Description
The Defence College of Healthcare Education and Training (DCHET) is seeking to accredit the Defence Medic programme with an Associate Ambulance Practitioner (AAP) Level 4 qualification from Apr 16. The requirement is for an Awarding Organisation (the Provider) to accredit a Level 4 AAP award and to assure the award is accepted by UK Ambulance Trusts. This programme is to commence in Apr 2016 and provide an enduring solution. Key areas are summarised as follows: a.Provide DCHET with the learning outcomes to assist in the development of the AAP Level 4 module. b.Provide External Quality Assurance (EQA) for the AAP Level 4 didactic programme to satisfy the Provider’s accreditation. c.Quality assure all summative examinations through the EQA process. The AAP training must meet the standards set by the Awarding Body and will be externally quality assured by them . The DCHET / Defence requirements for internal quality assurance as laid out in the DCHET Training Directive, will also form part of the IQA process. Additionally DCHET is also part of a 2nd and 3rd Party Audit programme conducted by SG Healthcare Delivery and Training, DHET, the General Medical Council (GMC) and the Office for Standards in Education (OfSTED).
