**Please note that this is an award notice and the opportunity is now closed.** The City of London Corporation in its role as a Local Authority is responsible for the provision of a Public Mortuary Service for the reception, storage, post-mortem examination of human remains area referred to it by the HM Coroner (or his/her representative) for the City of London District. The Coroner's service is a statutory service that must be provided for the City of London but can be provided at suitable premises elsewhere with the Senior Coroner's approval. In exercise of the legal power to provide such a service, the City of London Corporation (the City) requires that the appointed contractor that service on behalf of the City for a three year period commencing 1st September 2019 and ending on the 31st August 2022, with the possibility of a further two year extension until 31st August 2025. The appointed Contractor shall provide a mortuary service to the City that shall be capable of providing all such facilities and mortuary technical personnel as necessary to facilitate the carrying out of post-mortems on bodies and human remains referred thereto by HM Coroner for the City of London or their deputy, and in accordance with the contract requirements
