Description

The Made In North Tyneside (MINT) programme, which is delivered under the business factory branding, is managed and part funded by the Council. The core enterprise team project is about creating opportunities for potential business start-ups supporting them to develop their ideas into viable opportunities and supporting North Tyneside's existing small to medium business community with specialist consultancy support to help them grow, as well as providing new product / service development support around innovation. North Tyneside Council secured a total of £5.7 million jointly funded by European Regional Development Funding (ERDF) and North Tyneside Council to deliver the start-up programme from March 2009 to December 2021. The objectives were to increase the number of local residents exploring enterprise and self employment as a viable career option and increase the number of people starting up in business. A further £0.9 million has been applied for to extend the project from 1st January 2022 to 30 June 2023.
