Description
UK SBS BLOJEUCR16065ESRC The ESRC is seeking to commission an impact review of its key data infrastructure investments to develop a better understanding of the nature and profile of their users and the impact of the research that these facilitate. The review should seek to provide an assessment of impact in terms of: Scientific and methodological impact, including infrastructure development Impact from training and capacity building, including the development of operational expertise and professional skills within the investments Economic and social impact, for example via impact on policy and practice. Objectives of the Review The review will seek to assess the impact and reach of the UKDS, Understanding Society, CLS, BES and NCRM by: identifying and assessing specific impacts resulting from the use of these investments identifying the means by which the investments have achieved impact both through their own communications, networking, and related activities, and through the use of the investments’ data and services by other organisations and individuals identifying and analysing the determinants of the impacts identified identifying the full range of organisations/individuals who have made use of these investments and the ways in which they have exploited the data and services identifying best practice and lessons for impact generation and capture that can be widely applied to research resource investments characterising how ESRC resource investments can build stronger working relationships with each other.
