Description
To appoint contractors to develop ancillary components (including control valves, excess flow valves & alarms) necessary for the safe installation of hydrogen appliances & comparable on cost to the natural gas approved components used today including hydrogen alarms as part of the Hy4Heat programme's WP4b. Hy4Heat is a feasibility study to establish if it is technically possible, safe & convenient to replace natural gas (methane) with hydrogen in residential & commercial buildings & gas appliances. There are 3 lots: Lot 1:Dev't of piping, pipe fittings, gas valves, gas pressure regulators & emergency control valves that are compatible & safe for use with hydrogen. Lot 2:Dev't of gas excess flow valves (EFV) suitable for use in low pressure hydrogen supply pipes downstream of the emergency control valve (ECV). Lot 3:Dev't of domestic alarms compatible & safe for use with hydrogen.
