Description
The Downs to the Sea: Recovery and Resilience in Wetland Habitats project will help to restore and protect crucial ponds and wetlands, across the South Downs and in the Arun Valley, that are instrumental in nature recovery and resilience to climate change at scale, providing multiple ecosystem services. It is a partnership project comprising of South Downs National Park Trust (SDNPT) (lead applicant), South Downs National Park Authority (SDNPA), RSPB, Arun and Rother Rivers Trust (ARRT), Brighton and Hove City Council (including The Living Coast), and Writing Our Legacy. (WOL). The year-long development phase is crucial for the partnership to do preparatory work for a delivery phase activity plan. The SDNPT and SDNPA wish to appoint a consultant to work with the partnership during the development phase to: 1) inform and support audience development; and 2) create an evaluation framework for the project. Both will be important elements of a delivery phase application to NLHF in late 2023 or early 2024.
