Description
The Department has a primary objective to improve the journey experiences of rail passengers. As such, we are looking to work with industry partners to develop initiatives based on an improved understanding of customer satisfaction and general opinions about the wider rail industry. This is guided by a recognition that existing tools (e.g. NRPS) do not give us the more holistic, and immediate, understanding of the passenger experience that we need to be able to encourage TOCs to drive improvements in a more focused and speedy manner. This project will build on previous work already undertaken by Zipabout (in 2016 Zipabout and DIT worked on a project which was funded through the DIT's MoU with Transport Systems Catapult). The subscription will enable Departmental research into new methods of gathering insight. The fault reporting function will enable a more speedy, efficient and user-friendly way that allows customers to report faults and other customer service issues directly, in a manner which will help industry to respond and address problems more quickly and efficiently.
