Description
The London Borough of Sutton is working on an exciting project to create two green spaces as part of our response to the Climate Emergency. Through consultation we've identified an existing small open space in Wallington and an existing recreation ground in The Wrythe as areas to adapt and improve. Resident engagement is integral to the project, and we will expect our designer to reflect this in their methodology. The Council is looking for someone to work with us to design two accessible, open green space/parklet/community gardens. These will help mitigate against extreme heat and surface water flooding, while also having interest for the community and improving the appearance of and increasing use of the space. They will need to be easy to maintain, as a prerequisite is that the spaces are maintained by the community. The London Borough of Sutton will provide the successful bidder with key climate change data (publically available) for both sites, plus the results of utilities searches, where permissible (a data sharing agreement may be necessary). Please refer to the specification.
