Description
The Fuel Poverty and Health Programme service contract has been awarded to National Energy Action (NEA) for the provision of specialist advice and guidance to tackle the effects of fuel poverty as a result of increasing energy prices in 2022. NEA shall deliver a training, education and awareness raising programme for front line staff, schools and colleges. In addition, NEA shall support the most vulnerable households at risk of cold related ill health and deaths from fuel debt and energy disconnections through referrals to a fuel poverty and health crisis fund. This award was made due to a genuine unforeseen emergency (not of this Authority's making) where immediate action was required and that a service was in place before the anticipated price cap came into effect in teh autumn of 2022.
