Description
The Council has a statutory duty to clear the highway so far as is reasonably practicable, so that safe passage along the highway is not endangered by snow or ice or other obstructions. In times of adverse weather conditions, the Council requires a supplement its own resources to ensure that it can keep the highways safe for vehicles and pedestrians. The Council is seeking to appoint a framework of suppliers who can deliver support on an ad-hoc basis only. The Council cannot provide details of the volume of support required. Requirements will be subject to weather conditions. The framework will be split into 2 lots: • Lot 1 – Night Patrol Drivers (driver only, the Council will provide a bulk gritter (HGV)) • Lot 2 – Adverse Weather Support (the tenderer will provide the operator, plant / vehicle & equipment) Tenderers can submit a bid for one or both lots
