Description
The Sheffield Royce Institute is a £34M project based in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering. Sheffield is part of the national Henry Royce Institute (with the main Hub in Manchester) which aims to grow the UK world-leading research and innovation base in advanced materials science, fundamental to all industrial sectors and the national economy. The Sheffield Royce Institute focuses on Advanced Materials Processing and will be delivered through two centres - the Royce Discovery Centre (RDC) and the Royce Translational Centre (RTC). These state-of-the-art facilities will allow materials discovery, materials manufacturing and prototype production and will act as an open access centre of excellence for the UK. As part of the Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials, the Department of Materials Science & Engineering at The University of Sheffield would like to purchase an indentation-based mechanical property assessment system, capable of probing a range of mechanical properties and behaviours on a scale appropriate to developmental materials of all types (specimens of the order of 10s of grams, on a length scale of a few mm). This indentation platform is to support the materials discovery strand of the Henry Royce theme. This procurement is an EU open procedure. The ITT can be downloaded by registering and expressing your interest on the University`s e-tendering system https://in-tendhost.co.uk/Sheffield The closing date for this tender is 25th February 2019 (12 noon UK time)
