Description
Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service, trading as Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Authority, has a contract in place for the provision of Occupational Health Physician Services, which is due to expire on 31st March 2021. This is an Early Engagement Notice announcing to the market the Authority's intention to procure a replacement services contract. The winning Bidder will be responsible for providing the Authority with expert occupational health medical advice by way of assigning a suitably qualified and experienced occupational health practitioner who will be the primary contracted professional to deliver against the Authority's specification requirements, which will include but not limited to: • Assess the fitness of the Authority's employees in relation to their roles, recommending suitable adjustments where necessary; • Undertake relevant medicals - Recruitment, Asbestos, LGV, etc.; • Undertake Recruitment and Statutory health assessments for operational Fire Fighters; and • Analyse health surveillance data and recommend remedial measures to improve workers' health. The Authority will undertake a pre-tender market engagement, via separate virtual meetings with all suppliers expressing an interest in response to this Early Engagement Notice. The purpose of the market engagement will be to gain a greater understanding on matters such as but not limited to: • Testing financial viability of the service provision; • Alternative options for service delivery; • The level of marketplace interest to enable a decision to be made on the procurement route to be used. Suppliers are requested to confirm their Expression of Interest in participating in the market engagement process by emailing the Authority's Procurement Team at procurement@bedsfire.gov.uk no later than 11th November 2020. The format arrangements along with prospective dates will be communicated following confirmation of levels of interest received from the marketplace.
