Description
Peterborough City Council requires delivery of a programme to increase the provision of cycle training for children attending compulsory education in England exclusively to the National Standard for cycle training (Bikeability). Bikeability is a Cycling Proficiency Training Programme, designed to give children the skills and confidence to ride their bikes on today's roads. There are three Bikeability levels (1 to 3) and children are encouraged and inspired to achieve all levels, recognising that there is always more to learn and to enjoy on a bike. There is also Bikeability Plus which is additional training (for example practicing riding a bike on a road) to complement the three levels. Bikeability is a progressive scheme that moves through three levels to give parents the reassurance that their children have the necessary skills and confidence to cycle at each stage of their development and particularly to cycle to school.
