Provision of Fire Suppression for Admirals and Giants Buildings at BAS Rothera Research Station

*** THIS IS NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION *** UK Research and Innovation have awarded the Provision of Fire Suppression for Admirals and Giants Buildings at BAS Rothera Research Station to Argus Fire Protection Company Ltd. This contract was directly awarded to the Supplier after UKRI failed to find a suitable contractor in the open market to undertake the required works. This requirement was therefore awarded under Regulation 32. UKRI went out to full Open tender in August 2019 (our ref FM19219) for this requirement but we did not receive any compliant bids. This recent test of the market had demonstrated that there was a limited supply base for this product. UK SBS have concluded this Contract in line with article 32, 2 (a) of the Public Contract Regulations 2015. General grounds (2) The negotiated procedure without prior publication may be used for public works contracts, public supply contracts and public service contracts in any of the following cases:- (a) where no tenders, no suitable tenders, no requests to participate or no suitable requests to participate have been submitted in response to an open procedure or a restricted procedure, provided that the initial conditions of the contract are not substantially altered
