Description
The Taste Production Kitchen at Hammersmith College is a training kitchen for students and the production kitchen for the adjacent Taste Restaurant. The main cooking island is dated and runs primarily on gas. As part of the colleges sustainability drive and to increase and upgrade facilities for students, the island unit is to be replaced. The new island will be served by modular, electric appliances. The existing extract canopy will remain unaltered with the exception of a revised layout of the Ansul Fire Suppression system. The Ansul alteration is being carried out by a Client Direct contractor and is not part of this tender. The outline scope of the project is as follows: • Isolate services and strip out and dispose of the existing island unit • Isolate services and temporarily relocate other equipment in the kitchen to the taste restaurant • Strip up and remove existing floor covering • Latex and lay a new vinyl floor • Form a new dwarf spine wall for services to the new island • Supply and fit new electrical distribution board and power supplies to the island • Adapt existing cold water supply and drainage in spine wall • Reinstate relocated kitchen equipment and reconnect services • Installation of new island equipment
