Description
Warwick District Council takes seriously its responsibility to protect and enhance its town centres. It has a good record of commissioned retail assessments to inform its planning policy. Over the last fifteen years a number of studies have been undertaken, most recently in 2014 by Strategic Perspectives. These have provided a basis both for policy development and for considering planning applications that have come before the council. The main purpose of this brief is to set out forthcoming work that Warwick District Council will require in order to ensure that its retail and town centre policies are up to date and sound. The work is required, both to provide a robust framework to support our Local Plan work for the district as a whole, and also specific work within Leamington town centre. The Council also requires occasional advice in relation to specific planning applications and it would wish to retain a consultant to provide advice on an on-going basis as proposals emerge. We would therefore wish for a quotation, on an hourly basis, for such advice.
