Description

The School of Medicine, Division of Epidemiology and Public Health, University of Nottingham has been awarded Cancer Research UK fellowship investigating the effects of standardised packaging and the 2014 European Union Tobacco Products Directive on tobacco product pricing, consumption and smoking prevalence in the United Kingdom (UK). The key element of this research proposal is to evaluate the effects of new legislation on consumer behaviour, i.e. switching between different products, types and brands of products or changing behaviour such as quitting smoking. We are looking for data from a consumer panel representative to the UK that would allow us to track changes in individual behaviour (at individual or household level), and would also allow us to gain access to a sample of consumers to ask more detailed questions about changes in their behaviours or attitudes. This is a tender invitation for a two Part Contract. A high quality of data and delivery is expected for each component (consumer panel data on purchasing and access to consumer panel) of this tender. We are seeking for one provider to provide both parts. Part 1: Consumer panel market research data on purchasing patterns of tobacco products in the UK Part 2: Administration of a structured questionnaire to a sample of consumers identified within Part 1.
