Contract for Transport and Disposal of Landfill Leachate

This Contract is for the transport and disposal of landfill leachate produced from selected Council's landfill sites. The principal purpose of the Contract is to enable the Council to perform its duty by disposing of excess landfill leachate offsite at a legally compliant disposal facility. The Council has a duty as the operator of four permitted landfill sites in County Durham and one closed landfill to control landfill leachate under the Environmental Permitting Regulations 2010.
