Description
The University of Sheffield requires a transmission electron microscope, side entry holder and electronic detector along with the required computers for their operation primarily for: (i) imaging of negatively stained single protein molecules; (ii) imaging of resin-embedded biological and biomedical samples; (iii) room temperature tomography of the above. The system will be housed in a purpose built facility along with a number of other microscopes. In many cases it will act as a screening instrument for samples prior to preparation for cryomicroscopy. The microscope will replace our current Phillips CM100 microscope.
