Description
RRS James Cook Vessel Refit. A marine maintenance/servicing facility is required to undertake scheduled repairs and to carry out routine, mandatory maintenance and class survey work. Work is to be completed in shortest possible running days to enable post refit sea trials to be completed prior to its next science cruise. Main Tasks The main tasks to be undertaken during this maintenance period are as follows: • O/H one main engine (9WL20); removal of props, rudders and tail shafts, repair to shafts, fitting eco seals; • cleaning and painting of the underwater hull, vertical sides & superstructure; • renewal of anodes; survey/overhaul of 2x tunnel thrusters; • renewal of the timber deck stbd side. In order to allow the bidders to quote accurately for this requirement we expect all interested bidders to attend the vessel for inspection. RRS James Cook will be available for inspection on 24th Feb - 5th Mar in port of Spain, Trinidad with a backup slot for clarification 23rd Apr in Southampton. Bidders should notify us via Emptoris about the selected date and time for inspection. Please note : in order to be considered for this procurement bidders must attend one of the available slots to inspect the vessel.
