UC Design System alignment with DWP/GDS Universal Credit

UC inherited the Gov.UK Design System but over time both UC and Gov.UK was iterated, introducing improvements, new patterns and components and if a GDS design system component wasn't available, a UC specific component was created. Over time, the UC Design System( UCDS) and GDS design system became out of sync. An audit highlighted the delta between the UC pattern library, Gov.UK Design System and the UC build. Following the outputs from the audit and recommendations, work is now required to integrate the UCDS with DWP design system, in a way that integrates efficient and easy to update GOV.UK design system elements and unique UCDS components and patterns.
