Description
Leicester City Council Youth Offending Services works in partnership to provide a high quality services to the people of Leicester, contributing to a safer community by preventing offending and reducing reoffending. This service offers support to young people between the ages of 10-18 years. Leicester City Council Youth Offending Service is looking for a Training Provider to deliver a 2 days Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training: An Awareness Session. The course would be designed for Case Managers employed at the Leicester City Youth Offending Service who work with young people aged 10-18 who may have Mental Health issues that require support and awareness on. The service is looking for training providers to provide Case Managers with a theoretical and practical overview of basic Cognitive Behavioural Therapy principles and its application to children and adolescents. Event Title: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) Training: An Awareness Session The course would be designed for: • Case Managers and Youth Advocates (approximately 25 delegates) employed at the Leicester City Youth Offending Service who work with young people aged 10-18 who have committed offences and have other complexities in their lives including issues linked to mental health. • Case Managers and Youth Advocates to be provided with a theoretical and practical overview of basic CBT principles which they can apply to young people they are working with to improve potential outcomes for them Course duration we would expect: 2 days, late June, beginning July but would have to be before School Summer Holidays. Course dates to be agreed with Leicester City Council, Youth Offending Service, to allow room bookings to be made and booking staff to attending. Course Venue: Training events would be conducted at Leicester City Council premises, within Leicester City Centre. Course topics we would expect to be covered: General and Generic Section • Definitions: understanding what CBT is. • Understanding how to use CBT with young people. • Being able to produce a conceptualisation and formulate a treatment plan • Demonstrate the ability to apply CTB techniques to low level anxiety and depression Specific Section • To be able to discuss live cases and how CBT can help What we would expect to be included as a part of the training: • A small resource pack with further resources, links, information • Electronic materials that might be used as a reference point post-event
