Newcastle University requires a benchtop Colony Picker to establish an automated foundry which will accelerate our research projects in Synthetic Biology (Engineering Biology), including the EPSRC funded programme grant; Synthetic Portabolomics. Interdisciplinary Computing and Complex BioSystems (ICOS) have been awarded funding from the School of Computing and want to purchase a small benchtop colony picker with multiple fluorescent filters for phenotypic selection. We require the instrument to be able to accept more than 2 plates at a time to offer high throughput for automation. The colony picker will be housed in the Devonshire Building within the Faculty of SAGE, (ICOS, School of Computing) The scope is for the supply, delivery, and commissioning of the equipment as detailed in the Invitation to Tender document, with after sales support, a minimum 12 months parts and labour warranty and maintenance.
