Description
The ISIS Support Laboratories have been growing their capabilities and available facilities over recent years. The demand for specialist facilities and equipment to help ISIS users get the very best out of their experiments, has lead us to build a number of new laboratories and improve the facilities within our existing suite of Labs. One area which is in need of development is the Hydrogen and Catalysis Lab. This lab contains specialist equipment for the production and testing of catalysts and hydrogen storage materials. To maintain the capability for conducting world leading science it is important to keep the instruments available to the user community at the cutting edge and offer a range of techniques. After many request from the user community we would like to purchase an additional option for our high temperature DSC/TG instrument. This mass spectrometer option will allow a greater understanding of the absorbed substrates on catalysts and hydrogen storage materials. This is a capability that ISIS does not have and is not available to most users at their home institutions. By purchasing this option we will be able to help the users to write higher impact papers and support their ISIS beamtime.
