Description
***** THIS IS AN AWARD NOTICE, NOT A CALL FOR COMPETITION ***** This procurement is being concluded following a mini competition under the CCS RM6126 - Research and Insights framework. Brief Description of Requirement MicroCarb is a ground-breaking European satellite mission intended to monitor the atmospheric load of Carbon Dioxide and gauge how much carbon is being absorbed by oceans and forests. MicroCarb is an important mission for the UK and for the international community. It is a pilot for future Agency programmes and as such offers valuable opportunities to learn lessons for future programme design and implementation. Considered a successor to other carbon dioxide missions such as Greenhouse gas Observing Satellite (GOSAT) and Orbiting Carbon Observatory-2 (OCO-2), the objective of MicroCarb is to monitor the fluxes of carbon dioxide between the atmosphere, oceans and vegetation.
