External Quality Assurance (QA) of a Pilot Study to Apply the DECC Model QA Guidance to the National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory

The National Atmospheric Emissions Inventory (NAEI) contractor ran a pilot project to improve the QA standards of 10 pilot NAEI models to DECC’s required standard. This project was to provide independent external QA to verify the NAEI contractor’s work on the models, to confirm if the new QA processes are fit for purpose. This requirement was fulfilled by running a mini competition via the DECC Energy Technical Specialist Framework.
