Description
Closing date and time for Bidder to request RFP documents: Friday 4th December 2020 @ 10:00hrs BST Closing date and time for Bidder to submit their response ('the deadline'): Friday 4th December 2020 @ 11:00hrs BST DO NOT apply directly to the buyer. All tender documentation MUST be submitted through the Delta eSourcing portal. Brief Description of Requirement: The BGS laboratories require the purchase of a laser ablation system to achieve our scientific objectives. The laser system will be coupled to a variety of ICP-MS systems (quadrupole, magnetic sector - single and multi-collector), for the purposes of collecting spatially resolved elemental and isotopic geochemical data. These data will be both in the form of discrete spot and mapped analyses. The geochemical data will be required to be seamlessly integrated with spatially referenced positional data from the laser ablation system and spatially resolved cross-correlated data from other instruments i.e. optical microscopy, SEM, cathodoluminescence. We would ask for innovative bids that encompass the following objectives: scientific excellence, value for money and minimised total cost of ownership over the first 5 years. This contract will be awarded based on the evaluation criteria set out in the RFP document.
