Description

There is currently the need for a high resolution, high positional accuracy 3D microscope to aid component quality inspection (form & textural) at the AMRC. The research will involve manufacturing defect detection, with non-contact scans for geometry profile, metallic burring, CFRP delamination and uncut fibres. Automated scanning, easy machine configuration changes (for example lens changes) and variable light setting will aid in rapid inspection for multiple non-connected regions per workpiece. The components/features of interest will range in geometries. Most inspection will be within a working area of 200 x 200 mm in x and y, however scans with working areas up to 300 x 300 mm would be desired. Cutting tool scanning is another research area of interest, using the equipment to be purchased to scan cutting edges for tool wear analysis, requiring the ability to grip and rotate cutting tools. This is an FTS open exercise. The ITT can be downloaded by registering and expressing your interest on the University`s e-tendering system https://in-tendhost.co.uk/sheffield If you have any questions or comments in relation to this tender they must be submitted via the In-tend system, this can be accessed at https://in-tendhost.co.uk/sheffield Completed tenders must be returned through the same e-tendering system.
