Description

Since 2018/19, an electronic river gauge with data logging equipment has been in place on Braunstone Lane East, monitoring water level of the River Biam. The primary use of the system is to provide warning of potential flooding on Braunstone Lane East, as email alerts are sent when the river level reaches a certain threshold, and therefore informs what Traffic Management response is required. The existing river level monitoring system should also directly link into the Static Flood signs (in place at either end of Braunstone Lane East) to present either a message saying "Slow Down" or "Road Closed" along with a Flood Warning symbol. The river level data is currently uploaded onto an online portal which is available to view 24 hours a day throughout the year and also has the capability to download historic river level data stored within the system. As the current contract ends 08/04/2023 we now need to advertise to still provide these services.
