Description

The final date and time for the submission of bids is Thursday 06th January 2022 at 11:00 DO NOT apply directly to the buyer. All tender information MUST be submitted through the Delta eSourcing Portal. Brief Description of Requirement The Department for Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (BEIS); Office for Product Safety and Standards (OPSS) is an appointed market surveillance authority, responsible for (via the Secretary of State) enforcing the General Product Safety Regulations (GPSR) within the UK. Suppliers are strongly encouraged to read the text at the following link in order to gain a full understanding of the enforcement services role within OPSS: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-regulation-enforcement-services The test results stemming from this tender will form part of a larger testing programme currently being undertaken by OPSS. The aim of this testing programme is to establish the baseline levels of non-compliance across a range of products. This tender is focusing on one product from that range. The results of this testing programme will help to inform future OPSS decision-making and aid impact measurement. The successful bidder is to provide test results for 50 different examples of the below electrical product to verify their compliance against the Toys Regulations. The test house will therefore receive 50 x 4 multiples of each sample to allow for the full suite of tests to be carried out. Therefore, the test house will receive 150 items in total. 50 x 4 = 200. Doll Samples: The test methods applied should follow those set out in EN 71-1; EN 71-2; EN 71-3 as applicable to the samples and should be done following the relevant standards for each test, including any normative / informative reference standards. • EN 71-1:2014+A1:2018 • EN 71-2:2011+A1:2014 • EN 71-3:2019 • EN 62115:2005+A12:2005 (Electric toys safety, if applicable), and o Regulation 18 (1) CE/UKCA marking o Regulation 19 (2) (c) single address at which the manufacturer can be contacted Please ensure you review all attached information to ensure a full understanding of this requirement.
